Traditionally Threod Systems participated in Spring Storm 2019. A large-scale live exercise of the Estonian Defence Forces (EDF), with participation from NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence and other Allied forces.
Threods participation
For Threod Systems the exercise is strategically very important and already became a tradition. The reservists from Threod Systems supported the units with Stream C , Eos in VTOL option and multirotor Titan UAS. Stream C supported brigade maneuver, Eos supported battalion level activities, while Titan performed last-mile delivery tasks.
President Kersti Kaljulaid visit
The President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid visited the units participating in the Spring Storm exercise as well as other allied forces. The work of all the units involved is “proceeding like clockwork,” the president said. In her interview to the EDF she said, “I have met traditional characters as well as innovative ones, like Threod Systems”.
“The visit to the exercise enables the president as the supreme commander of national defense to get an overview of what our headquarters and units are capable of, as well as to express her appreciation for the Estonian and allied defense personnel taking part in the exercise,” commented the Security Policy Adviser to the President Peeter Kuimet. Spring Storm (Kevadtorm)
The majority of Spring Storm’s land exercises are taking place in Lääne-Viru County as well as Ida-Viru County.
Over 9,000 participants, from approximately 13 countries, are taking part in this year’s Spring Storm, including units from the 1st Infantry Brigade, elements of the 2nd Infantry Brigade, units from Support Command, as well as other units of the Estonian Defence Forces (EDF) and the volunteer Estonian Defence Leage (Kaitseliit), together with personnel from the British-led NATO enhanced Forward Presence (eFP).
