Estonia planning to use UAV's on Schengen border

On January 6 the Estonian Minister of Interior Hanno Pevkur paid a visit to Threod Systems. The Minister was given a detailed overview of the UAV applications. The adoption of the UAVs could put a new spin in the borderguards sector: the flying sensors would cover the areas inaccessible for the static surveillance systems or manned patrols, for example, water surface, islands, bogs and swamps. The next logical step is the test flights in different border zones that will be conducted at the end of the month.
